Who I Serve
I am the elected Montana State Representative for House District 37. The district includes all of Petroleum County and most of Fergus County, minus Moore and Denton. House District 37 serves my hometown Grass Range, plus Winnett, Roy, Winifred, Hilger, Danvers, Brooks, and Lewistown. Additionally served are the Ayers Ranch Colony, Fords Creek Colony, Deerfield Colony, Spring Creek Colony, and King Ranch Colony.
My interest in running for House District 37 began with my desire to increase my engagement in civic responsibilities as a Montana citizen. I have led classes on the US Constitution over the last couple of years and have learned that the only way to preserve the liberties of our communities, state, and country is to be civically engaged.
I have come to know many constituents in House District 37. Many of you have asked how I intend to keep you informed of what is happening during the 2025 Montana Legislative Session. This website is one of the avenues I will use to do just that.
My vote in committee hearings and on the floor of the House of Representatives depends on you informing me what you expect.

About Shane
I’m a Central Montana native born in the St. Joseph’s hospital in Lewistown, raised on a ranch near Grass Range. I have significant interest in preservation of our rural way of life. Our future generation of civic leaders need current leaders to protect our freedoms from being stolen by forces working against their best interests.
I have a 31-year career of service with 9 years as a commissioned officer and pilot in the US army with 14-1/2 years in the Montana Army National Guard; 9 years as a firefighting pilot in the USDA Forest Service; and 11 years as a law enforcement pilot in the US Customs and Border Protection. In those 31 years I have seen the government operate and continuously grow. This must change if we wish to preserve our freedoms!
Retiring in 2018, I moved home to Grass Range after gaining experience elsewhere for 38 years. I now take care of my dad’s ranch for the purpose of ensuring it remains in the family.
